When we at Mauri organise a city trip for our clients, we always keep a sharp eye on the surroundings. Maastricht offers a wealth of experiences, but the immediate region also provides unique activities that are simply too good to miss during a 2-day city trip.
The Experience:
The journey to the south of the Netherlands continues near Valkenburg, at the centuries-old Sibbergroeve limestone quarry. Here we start with a unique cave biking experience 40 metres underground. After this sporty activity, a traditional “Mestreechs Teleurke” lunch is served at the beautifully located restaurant Slavante.
After lunch, the programme continues in the centre of Maastricht, with a choice between a workshop in baking traditional Limburg flan or a guided tour with a tasting at Stadsbrouwerij Maastricht.
In the late afternoon, we check in at the hotel and prepare for drinks, dinner, and a festive evening at De Gouverneur.
On day 2, a delicious breakfast is served at Kasteel Schaloen, just a short distance from Maastricht. In the morning, we test the cable cars and toboggan runs of Valkenburg, after which the programme concludes with lunch at Boscafé ’t Hijgende Hert.
